Radiology Technologist/CT Technologist 

Job Statement:

This position performs diagnostic radiographic procedures of human anatomy at a technical level and consistently provides optimum diagnostic images to aid Radiologists in diagnosing various diseases and disorders. The position requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.

Job Duties:

1.                  Accountable to the Director of Radiology and the Chief Radiologist.  Respond to Radiologist requests and directions.

2.                  Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department.

3.                  Positions and transports patients comfortably and provides patient care.

4.                  Performs radiographic exams and performs clerical duties.

5.                  Ensure patients are correctly positioned and closely monitored during CT scans.

6.                  For Mammographers: Performs mammographic exams consistent with ACR/FDA requirements and assists/complies with all MQSA inspections.

7.                  Maintains department compliance with all established department policies/procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, compliance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

8.                  Maintain departmental facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials to promote patient and staff efficiency, health, comfort, and safety. Notify the Director of Radiology of any problems.

9.                  Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.

10.              Attends required meetings.

11.              Observes hospital’s compliance requirements and does not create an issue of fraud and abuse for the hospital

12.              Compliance with all established hospital policies and procedures.

13.              Projects a positive image of the hospital through dealings with the public, patients, vendors, and fellow employees by acting professionally at all times.

14.              Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

A minimum of an associate's degree is required from an accredited program in radiologic technology. For Mammographers: requires 40 hours of documented training specific to Mammography; 12 continuing education units per year in Radiology, six continuing education mammography specific, per year.

Required licenses/certifications:

a.                   ARRT certification in Radiology/CT and/or Mammography.

b.                   Current CPR certification.

Shift: Day

Hourly Wage Range: $30-$40.00
